Last year, President Obama declared September 11 a National Day of Service and Remembrance as a way to remember not only the tragedy but the "enduring values and resilient spirit" of the American people as well. Along with volunteers all over the country, more than 700 volunteers from 16 Chapters of HOPE worldwide set out to serve in a variety of projects. From a coat drive in Reno, NV to a homeless shelter clean up in Long Island, NY, HOPE worldwide volunteers answered Obama’s call to serve!

As we wrap up this year’s Summer of Service in partnership with the White House’s United We Serve initiative, we say thank you for the relentless volunteers who spent their summer giving back. More than 3,200 volunteers said “WE VOLUNTEER!”
Chapters did to honor September 11, 2010.
